Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account, installing the TaskGalaxy Chrome extension, or otherwise using TaskGalaxy ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. What TaskGalaxy Is

TaskGalaxy is a focus-tracking tool: a web app plus a Chrome extension that monitors your active browser tab during a session you start, to judge whether you're on-task. Details of exactly what is read, sent, and stored are in our Privacy Policy.

3. Accounts

• You must provide an accurate email address and are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
• You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you'll need a parent or guardian's permission, including to purchase a Pro subscription.

4. Plans & Billing

• Cadet (Free) — includes 30 minutes of task time per day, at no cost.
• Pro — a paid subscription billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, unlocking unlimited flows, unlimited session length, and the full leveling system.
• Pro subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled.
• You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing → Manage Billing. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro access through the end of the period you already paid for.
• Payments are non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we'll look into it.
• We may change subscription prices going forward; we'll give you notice before any change affects your next renewal.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the extension or web app beyond what's permitted by applicable open-source or fair-use law.
• Use the Service to violate any law, or to harass, abuse, or harm another person.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or to our systems.
• Use automated means to create accounts or bypass the free-plan usage limits.

6. The Chrome Extension

The extension only monitors your active tab while you have a session running — never in the background, and never on sites unrelated to a running session. Installing it grants the permissions Chrome shows you at install time; you can revoke them at any time by removing the extension. Full detail on what's read and sent is in the Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

TaskGalaxy's code, design, and branding belong to us. Your account content — Flow names, task topics, and similar data you create — belongs to you; we only use it to operate the Service for you.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including abusive use of the free plan or attempts to compromise the Service's security.

9. Disclaimers

TaskGalaxy is provided "as is." We're a small, actively-developed product — the AI on-task/off-task judgment won't be perfect, and we don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. TaskGalaxy is a productivity aid, not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaskGalaxy and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Changes to These Terms

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
